This weekend Joey and I had a chance to go see the Supercross in seattle, as a guest of one of my riding buddies in his SUITE at Quest field. Well of course we were all over that one! the weather was great and the racing and show were excellent. at one point before the finals we noticed that the previously empty suite next to us had Ken Griffey jr. in it ( he is friends with reighning champ james stewart). anyway, a real fun day for sure.

I'm glad to see that all of my children are staying very active and in shape. I have now obtained my orange sash in TaiChi and can officially be called "Sifu" which means "teacher". I was required to test on Chinese martial arts history, perform TaiChi hand forms, sword form and Bostaff form. Here are some pictures. Love,DAD

Training for the Marathon

Hi All,

So as some of you know Karen and I are training for the Inaugural Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon. The race date is June 27th or 28th. I have been off and on cause I have planters fasciitis . Although it is less painful to run up and down the mountain then on the street - I have been trying to do more street running to prepare. I think that swimming is helping me as I got back into the pool. Of all the sports it is my least favorite but i know how good it is for me and it is non impact to my foot. Anyway - Karen ..... you are probably kicking my butt in training as my longest distance so far is 13 miles. Keep up the great work and I'll send more news soon.
Love, Lauren

Happy Easter To All....

Love always,
Maria and Bri....

Looks Like Bri will be going West for College

LOOK OUT CALI.... Briana will be signing a letter of intent with University Of California- Riverside... Before she was able to call the other colleges to let them know that she will not be going to their school the starledger called her last night to verify what her heard... So he put it in the paper today. Briana also talked to her coach at Randolph and he also called the Daily Record and they will be taking a picture of her signing the letter and making it a big deal... I know that Lauren and Matt will take great care of her out there.

Randolph hurdler Feldhaus choses Cal Riverside (High school Girls Outdoor Track news)
by THE STAR-LEDGER
Wednesday April 08, 2009, 8:56 PM
Randolph senior Briana Feldhaus, who won the indoor track Meet of Champions title in the 55-meter hurdles this past winter, has verbally committed to attend California Riverside next fall.
Feldhaus, who won her first M of C title in 8.12, was unbeaten against New Jersey competition in all but one race (at the Eastern States Championships) and earned First Team All-State honors.
Feldhaus, 17, considered Rutgers, West Virginia, Moravian and Rowan before settling on the Division 1 school in Southern California. She said she was introduced to the school last summer by her aunt, who lives in Corona, about a 15-minute drive from campus.

My first race

I just ran my first race this past Saturday. It was a 5K....huge accomplishment for me since I only started running 2 months ago.
I've stayed away from running since the day in high school when Lauren thought it would be a good idea for me to go for a run with her.....I didn't get very far before I tossed my lunch on the side of Stanhope Road. Ever since then I avoided running like the plague.

I'm already planning my next 5K. Hoping to improve my time. My official time (which is slightly off since I started at the back of the pack) was a 10:14 minute mile . I had on a headband and a fleece jacket to ward off the 40mph wind gusts we had. Not the ideal weather conditions for the race but I survived!

Some recent photos - first from the VetMed school at Texas A&M and then Colin and Andre'a in an icecave in New Zealand. Love, DAD

Hi All,

I thought that I would post a link to the DailyRecords article "For her overall efforts, Feldhaus has been selected as the 2009 Daily Record Girls Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year."

Love you all
