Last week we went to the annual "desert 100" where we get to fly aroung the washington desert at warp speed on our dirtbikes. this time, Frank actually graced us with his presence*. Justin, lisa, and tim were also there as usual. we left town with a motorhome full of teenagers ( joey, his buddy, his cousin kirsten and her friend) and deb and i. this is one of the fun weekends camping we look forward to all year and deb actually likes riding here best ( mountain trails best in my book). anyway, we had a great time as usual , got there eary friday where we saved enough space for many friends and family that showed up. all in all there are roughly 6-7 thousand people that invaded the small town of odessa, wa. and camped/rode on wes kings 21,000acre ranch! wooo hooo, really rough, tough, rocky, sandy, hilly, and muddy ( rained friday night) terrain! for the "ironman" poker run, we did two 36 mile laps at insane speeds and no one in our group had any trouble. of course, joey flew out to the lead right away and that was the last we saw of him until arriving back at camp 1 1/2 hours later. he decided to skip lap two, but the rest of us had no problem going back out. the race on sunday ( none in our group raced this year) is an unbelievable 900 bikes all on one looong line start. complete thunder and ground shake when they all take off at the same time! wow!! deb even scored a trophy ( and didn't race or go on the ironman, but she has ways of getting anything i swear!)
