And I can lay claim to High Point......OK maybe not in the same league as Dad and Frank but it has to count for something.

first time i saw rainier, i was in my car driving out here with all my stuff moving to WA. i crested the mountain pass in eastern Oregon and saw the thing way off in the distance. turned out to be over 200 miles away, yet i could clearly see it.....awesome mountain that many have failed in their attempt to climb.

Vycki, you were at 2053 while in Eden- thats higher than High Point. Also a correction in the Mt Baldy numbers- 10200 was the elevation of the camp we stayed in the night before and after the climb. The summit is 12441.

Dad....you drove me to see Mt. St. Helens after it erupted. Am I getting higher? How about Denver? I've been there.

Of the 10 highest peaks in Washington I climbed Rainier was the easiest. Even though it takes 3 days.Galcier peak was pretty hard as well as Little Tahoma ( the little bump sticking off the side of Rainier). Give me some notice Dad and we can climb Rainier. The best time is July.

10 years from now I'll be 84 and we can do it then and set a record. See you on the mountain in 2018. Love, DAD
